In 1939, the C.A.I. (Italian Alpine Club) of Voghera built a timber shelter at Cima Colletta – the destination of Sunday hikers and tourists. The facility was destroyed in World War Two, but the Club rebuilt the small barrack built and used during the war and transformed it into a shelter.
