Soriasco, the oldest settlement and former capital of the area, was first recorded in the 9th century, when, due to some imperial donations, it became property of the abbey of San Colombano of Bobbio. Emperor Frederick I placed it under the dominion of the city of Pavia in 1164. In the following centuries the estate was owned by different families (Giorgi, Beccaria, Dal Pozzo and Gambarana), until the end of feudalism, in 1797.
