The History
Probably of Roman origin (its name comes from noble Marcinius), Marcigna was recorded in the 12th century. It was part of the Campagna Soprana of Pavia and the seat of the jurisdiction of the podestà. Brusada, Cassina di Mezzo, Calignago, Molino Vecchio and Divisa were annexed to the community of Marcignago in the 18th century.
