The History
San Genesio and Uniti was once the seat of the ancient pieve (parish church) of the diocese of Pavia. With the arrival of Gian Galeazzo Visconti, San Genesio became part of the Visconti family’s great park which stretched from the Castle of Pavia to Certosa Its current name, San Genesio ed Uniti, appeared in 1871, when the communities of Comairano and Ponte Carate were annexed to San Genesio. Places of interest: • Permanent exhibition of the Battle of Pavia • Garzaia della Carola (“garzaia” - herons nesting site) • Garzaia di Porta Chiossa
