The History
The mount of Pénice (Pënas in the local dialect), whose name is derived from the Latin toponym Saltus Boielis, at an altitude of 1460 m, is one of the highest mountains of the Ligurian Apennines, bordering with the Oltrepò in the valley of the Staffora and with the Province of Piacenza in the valley of the Trebbia and the Tidone.
