The History
Cava dates back from 13th century, when it was under the dominion of Pavia, included in the jurisdiction of the podestà of Sommo and part of the Lomellina. Sommo was however under the jurisdiction of the Oltrepò.
At the time it was called Cava Taverna.
In 1466, the Eustachi family was enfeoffed with it. It was the property of the Marquis of Olevano from 1650 until 1797, the year when feudalism was abolished.
